Daisy & Daniel

As our evening together was coming to an end, the weather was just beginning to roll in. We approached Convict Lake’s Shale Beach and all I could think of was how it was so beautifully emotional.
The wind. The waves. And of course, the love.
Breaking into Headshots w/ Melissa

I think it’s SO so sooo important to have mentors in your life. People that believe in you and encourage you and plant little ideas in your head for success. I am SO so sooo fortunate to have a few of those very special people in my life.
One of these particular mentors is always encouraging me to push my photography & business endeavors. This mentor of mine recently got some headshots done (not by me) — and this got my wheels turning about the headshot niche of photography that I’d never thought about. So here is the first trial run, with another good friend of mine, Melissa.
Just as I feel lucky to have friends who I also consider mentors, I also feel very lucky to have friends that double as models! Cough cough, like Melissa here…
@ Home w/ Mike & Katie

How cute are Mike & Katie?!
This was my first “in-home” session and I think we all had a blast. In-home photo sessions are intimate & comfortable and really lets a couple’s personality shine. This session was particularly amazing because I got to partake in some of those delicious sourdough waffles they whipped up!
Mike and Katie are ALWAYS cooking up something amazing. They both navigate a kitchen like total bosses and create food combinations that are incredibly delicious and mind boggling to me. Gosh, I need to learn how to cook!
Although these two are completely comfortable lounging around the house in their pajamas they also really get after it — planning their next adventure, next mountain to climb or of course, their next dinner to host.
I am so lucky to call these 2 family and can’t wait to document their love story for years to come.

Katalin & Her Baby Bump

Have you ever met someone who you just instantly clicked with? Katalin was that woman for me! I loved her energy and her personality — after the session we sat and had coffees together at Starbucks and it really was like sitting with an old friend.
This mama-to-be can’t be more excited about her little man, who is expected to say hello to the world in March — just a couple short weeks away!
I have been feeling so thankful for photography and the connections that I have been able to make through my camera. Katalin just reinforced those feelings ten fold. I’m looking forward to staying in touch and organizing play dates for our little ones.

Boutique Photo Editing

Eureka Photography is happy to announce that I will be taking on another couple clients in 2017 for boutique photo editing!
Boutique photo editing??! What is it exactly? It’s a service for photographers to outsource their editing. If you’re a busy photographer and have sessions backing up or just find yourself wanting more time, outsourcing your editing can be a great option.

Jiselle & Brett

Jiselle & Brett came down from Mammoth Lakes to get some pictures in the wild iris fields before the flowers were done for the season — the photo session just happened to turn into an impromptu engagement session! Jiselle asked Brett to marry her just a day or two before and of course — he said yes! Congratulations Jiselle & Brett!

Sunrise w/ Nicole & Michael

Huntington Beach, California – the temperatures are always perfect and it’s not far from whatever type of scenery you want – mountains, desert, ocean, lakes, forests – you name it and it’s all within a days drive. Although I absolutely love living in Bishop, I still have a big fat soft spot for the beach and its foggy mornings.
For our portrait photography session, we decided to take an early morning walk at the Bolsa Chica Wetlands — I had yet to take sunrise pictures and although I wouldn’t describe myself as a morning person, this session with Nicole & Michael made me wanting to do many many more.
The beautiful orange and yellow light + the cozy fall appeal = one very happy photographer. Thank you Nicole & Michael for dragging my butt outta bed and for being such an incredibly fun couple to photograph.

Emerson Amelia Celebrates 1 Year

This little one isn’t stranger to the wild lands of Bishop, California. Her mom & dad make sure this little jelly bean gets lots of play time and outside adventure. She surely is going to grow up to be the kind of kid who likes to play in mud, build forts and from time to time – skins a knee or two.
Emerson’s mom is an excellent graphic designer (which it doesn’t hurt to consider her a good friend!) She and I can exchange photography, baby & family portrait sessions for design. Cough cough – notice my EP logo? That’s thanks to Emerson’s lovely mom.
Well on this Friday afternoon we all snuck out to one of the many sunflower fields and photographed this little gem just as she was, Emerson.

The sunflower fields are just about gone but Bishop California has plenty to keep a photographer busy for a lifetime. Until the next photo session.

The Bassetts
It seems like there isn’t anything more great then the love we share together. Love as a couple, love as a family. It just seems like it can’t get much better.
What a joy it was to capture some of this beautiful family’s love & goodness.
